This book is the second part of a two part series published by Haandarbejdets Fremme in the late 1950's to teach and pass on pulled thread designs based on 18th century embroidered lace in Denmark. There are 35 models presented in the book and each are captioned with materials used to execute the design as well as references for the stitches used. The stitches are illustrated throughout the book using both text explanation and line drawings to show the working order and detail. The book was presented to serve as a practical handbook for all those interested in pulled thread work while also retaining the original idea behind this form of needlework, namely that of transforming a piece of fabric into “lace”.
